Central Library occupies a place of pride in SITM LUCKNOW and is an essential component of the institute’s outstanding research and education mission. It is a most lively place on the campus providing a safe, comfortable and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge, and promotes discovery and scholarship. The mission of the Central Library is to facilitate creation of new knowledge through acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge resources and providing for value added services.

Central Information Center

The Central Information Center SITM has very active information /Learning ambience. The library having about 12000sq feet area and is capable of accommodating 250, students at a time to carry out any kind academic activity and reading books, journals ,news papers ,computer programming and software development etc. It’s fully linked with SITM internet and intranet & fully Centralized Air Conditional.

The centre has wide collection of latest books and journals (National & International). It has subscription to various national and international journals in prints besides a large no of e-journals through subscriptions of Digital Library of International journals IEEE/IEE Springer link, ASME, DIGITAL LIBRARY, ICFAI available to the students all over the campus.

The CIC remains open to students for 12 Hrs daily. CIC has the latest books to journals & CD ROMS on Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Communications, Mechanical Engg., Electrical Eng.., Bio-medical Engg., Civil Engg., Humanities, Bachelor of Pharmacy, and Master of Pharmacy, Master of Technology ( Computer Science, Mechanical, Electronics), Master of Business Administration, Master of Computer Application.

The CIC follows open Access System:
Reference Collection are available the CIC. The reference collection includes strong stock of all kinds of reference books, handbook, dictionaries, encyclopedias on electronics and communication engineering, computer science, biotechnology, civil engineering, humanities, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, bachelor of pharmacy and master of pharmacy.
Web OPAC is available locally within the campus to get the information about the availability of books, status, overdue, latest date of return etc with the Library Management Software NETT LIB/VIDYUT for Windows.
Xerox facility is provided by the library and it is available at all level of the CIC.

The CIC is fully computerized and all books/journals are fully bar-coded and integrated with antitheft system using  Library Automation Software ‘NETT LIB/VIDYUT for all of its management operation.

Document Scanning:
CIC has one HP Laser Scanner of high resolution for scanning of document by students and faculty members free of cost.

Internet : 
CIC is fully connected with INTERNET at all node of the library for the purpose of access of e-Journals, Educational Resources during all the working hours of the CIC.

Photocopy Facility 
The Xeroxing facility in the CIC is extended through all available level of the CIC.  Students can take photocopy of the desired materials.

Sunday to Holidays 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Circulations And Membership

Category of Membership and loan Period
All students, faculty members and employees of the SITM are entitled for the membership of the library. Their entitlements in terms of number of books which they can borrow on the permissible period are:

Circulation Rules
Each students has been issued bar-coded ID cards for borrowing books
Bar-coded Borrower card is mandatory for borrowing books from CIC.
Only two General Book will be issued to all members for the library
These dissertations, video cassettes are not lent out of the library
No book in damaged condition will be accepted from the reader. Mutilated of spoiled books will have to be replaced by the borrower.
The readers should check the book thoroughly for missing pages, chapters, pictures etc. while borrowing the book.
Books issued will not be accepted back on the same day.
Loss of books must be reported immediately. Late fees, if any, will be charged till the loss of book is reported. If the original library book is returned after reporting it lost, the fine will be calculated till the date of its return.
For the rules for replacement of lost book kindly contact the Librarian.
The borrowing facility can be withdrawn or restricted in case of misbehavior of misuse of the library.
Any books not returned on its scheduled date an overdue fine will be charged as per the library rules.
